The Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) Affiliated Healthcare System operates Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital, Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital, Kaohsiung Municipal Ta-Tung Hospital, Kaohsiung Municipal Siaogang Hospital, Kaohsiung Municipal CiJin Hospital, and the one currently under planning- GangShan Hospital. It possesses abundant capabilities in academia, research, and medical services. KMU Healthcare System will bring its products and solutions in the field of smart healthcare, acute medical care, care for all ages, medical devices and internationalisation to the public during the four-day Healthcare+ Expo.

Heart Monitoring and Sleep Care Using Wearables and Emerging Technologies
Research indicates that modern lifestyles, characterized by high levels of stress, can lead to insufficient or poor-quality sleep, potentially increasing the risk of cardiovascular diseases in the long run. The global rate of sudden cardiac death is approximately 0.1% to 0.2%, leading to the loss of about 23,000 to 46,000 lives annually in Taiwan. KMU Healthcare System has pioneered heart monitoring and sleep care systems, designed to assist in the early management of health and medical care intervention for individuals in the healthy and near-optimal healthy population.
How is your heart doing? Through wearable devices, users can instantly detect the stable movement status of the heart, accurately assess the heart's load capacity, and evaluate the risk of heart failure. The straightforward interpretation of heart measurements makes it easy for users to understand their own condition. Coupled with a cloud platform for warnings, professionals can also provide immediate assistance to prevent the occurrence of sudden cardiac death.

How well is your sleep? Kaohsiung Medical University integrates sleep neuroscience, wearable brain-computer interfaces, physiological signal analysis, Internet of Things (IoT), and smart environmental control technology to develop a sleep state detection and environmental control lighting system. Through wearable devices, brainwave signals are uploaded to the cloud for analysis, detection, and improvement of users' sleep. Additionally, by adjusting the environmental colour temperature and brightness to regulate the wake-up cycle, simulating a gradually brightening sunrise, and the bright morning light after sunrise, it can enhance the quality of sleep.

Care for All Ages- Promoting Health Equity
As COVID-19 has swept through, societal structures have shifted, and medical technology has advanced, it has propelled a transformation in healthcare systems, giving rise to telehealth services. The new generation of healthcare not only focuses on treating diseases but also emphasises the prevention and promotion of public health.
To enhance the quality of healthcare for all, KMU Healthcare System has introduced a system that brings together an all-age community healthcare service. For instance, to promote health equity, the Siaogang Hospital has launched an intelligent X-ray mobile unit that travels into communities to address medical challenges in remote areas. The Ta-Tung Hospital has established a exercise corridor to encourage physical activity, promoting health of the community. The Cijin Hospital has introduced a cloud-based health management platform that integrates elderly assessment and care information, implementing remote care services. The KMU Gangshan Hospital has set up an operating office to introduce Danish audio-visual delivery technology. The Sensory Delivery Room (SDR) is expected to be operational in 2024, utilising sound and light waves to alleviate labour pain and reduce stress for expectant mothers.
Homegrown Advanced Medical Devices Entering the SEA Markets
In recent years, the Taiwanese government has actively promoted the New Southbound Policy, establishing a platform for collaboration with focuses on healthcare industry development and products made in Taiwan. KMU Healthcare System actively supports Taiwanese medical device manufacturers such as Fu Jun BioMedical Co., Ltd., KUANG TAI Metal Industrial Co., Ltd., and PM GROUP’s own brand, EvolGuard, in expanding into countries in Southeast Asia.
Featuring a large-area total power laser therapy, Fu Jun BioMedical Co., Ltd.'s award-winning "Venusure Laser Light System" adjusts the original cellular physiological mechanisms, initiates tissue regeneration, and can effectively improve microcirculation, alleviate pain, and help wound healing.
KUANG TAI Metal Industrial Co., Ltd.'s "O2 Prime Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber" uses high-concentration oxygen to increase the body's oxygen-carrying capacity, promoting metabolism, and activating hypoxic tissues. It effectively promotes vasoconstriction, reduces interstitial edema, enhances white blood cell activity, lowers the risk of postoperative infection, accelerates wound healing, and aids in vascular repair and proliferation.
PM GROUP—EvolGuard, has developed medical gloves with high-efficiency chemical resistance, puncture resistance, and resistance to specific chemotherapy drugs. The gloves have passed chemotherapy drug testing, effectively reducing the probability of contact with potentially hazardous drugs and ensuring the safety of healthcare personnel handling chemotherapy drugs.
