Bioguard Canine Babesia gibsoni Ab test is a sandwich lateral flow immunochromatography assay, developed and manufactured by Bioguard Corporation to increase the feasibility of in-clinic in B. gibsoni diagnostic test in dogs. Babesia gibsoni is a tickborne parasite that causes lethargy, fever, hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, and splenomegaly. The primary transmission of Babesia organisms to dogs is by ticks during feeding. Many dogs, which survive the acute phase of Babesia gibsoni infection may become chronic carriers.
