As the global healthcare industry accelerates its digital transformation, nations worldwide are actively pursuing innovative solutions and international collaborations. Meanwhile, László Rásky, Secretary General of Hungary’s The Association of Medical Devices Manufacturers (AMDM), visited the 2024 Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan to explore new partnerships, highlighting Hungary’s advancements in medical device manufacturing and health data utilization as a foundation for bilateral cooperation.

László Rásky, Secretary General of Hungary’s The Association of Medical Devices Manufacturers (AMDM), emphasized the strategic alliance between Hungary and Taiwan during his visit to the 2024 Healthcare+ Expo. He pointed out the alliance's potential to accelerate advancements in medical device manufacturing and digital health.

During the Expo, Rásky emphasized Hungary’s three-decade investment in its national eHealth ecosystem, now anchored by the integrated platform “Estee,” which consolidates public and private healthcare data into a repository of over 2 billion health records. This system has become a cornerstone of Hungary’s digital healthcare strategy, enabling policy development, research, and industrial applications.

Furthermore, Rásky showcased two landmark pilot programs from Hungary: one that halved the time from cancer diagnosis to treatment decisions, and the “HANREN” AI Health Research Network, which uses AI to predict disease progression and lifecycles. “Data analytics and AI are not just future trends—they are the critical foundation for Hungary-Taiwan collaboration,” Rásky stated.

Delegations from the Association of Medical Devices Manufacturers (AMDM) and other countries' industry associations gained firsthand insights into the latest medical and healthcare advancements displaying at the 2024 Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan.

Taiwan’s strengths in ICT, AI diagnostics, and digital health platforms complement Hungary’s decades of expertise in medical device design and manufacturing. A partnership between the two could yield innovative healthcare solutions and unlock opportunities across Eurasian markets.

Beyond industry collaboration, Rásky highlighted potential in joint research and education initiatives, proposing cross-border training programs, multinational clinical trials, and academic exchanges to cultivate a new generation of globally minded med-tech professionals.

The visit marks a concrete step toward Taiwan-Hungary healthcare collaboration and reflects the industry’s shift toward tighter international cooperation. Rásky urged both governments to strengthen policy and resource support for a transnational healthcare alliance, leveraging global forums to fast-track the globalization of smart medical technologies.
