The 9th Healthcare Expo Taiwan will be held at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 from December 4th to 7th, expecting nearly 40 overseas industry associations to visit Taiwan in search of collaboration opportunities with Taiwan’s medical and biotechnology sectors. Ahead of the event, the organizers have launched a special “International Associations Interview Series,” featuring first-time visiting representatives who share their perspectives on Taiwan’s market potential and cooperation opportunities, helping domestic companies prepare for early business matchmaking.
Newly established in October 2025, the Australian Medical Technology Industry Network (AMTIN) is a company-structured, nontraditional industry association dedicated to supporting Australia’s small and medium-sized medical technology enterprises, promoting innovation, and facilitating regulatory and policy engagement. This marks AMTIN’s first international appearance since its founding, aiming to identify promising products and technologies of interest to Australian companies and to connect with distributors for partnership opportunities.
Spotlight on Taiwan’s Strengths in Medical Technology
According to AMTIN Chairman Paul, the delegation’s visit focuses on four major areas:
Paul noted that cooperation models may include distribution partnerships, OEM/ODM co-development, technology licensing, or joint ventures.
He emphasized Taiwan’s advantages over other regional partners: “Compared to China, where regulatory complexity and patent protection are often concerns, Taiwan offers strong ICT capabilities, a transparent legal system, and high-quality, competitively priced products.”
Taiwan as the Ideal Gateway for AMTIN’s Asia partnership
Paul further commented that Australia has been actively deepening its industrial connections with Asia. “Taiwan’s geographical proximity, manufacturing excellence, and trusted reputation in medical technology make it an ideal entry point for Australian companies expanding into Asia,” he said.
This visit to the Taiwan Healthcare+ Expo marks AMTIN’s first international collaboration initiative. If successful, AMTIN plans to utilize Australia as a bridge to connect Taiwan with Europe, the United States, and the Middle East, advancing a more integrated global medical supply chain.
AMTIN’s Role: Building a Platform for Taiwan–Australia Collaboration
To promote concrete business engagement, Paul introduced AMTIN’s three core service mechanisms to participated members:
He also noted that “Some TGA regulations are even stricter than the U.S. FDA’s.” With AMTIN’s policy and regulatory support, international companies can more efficiently introduce compliant products into Australia, while Taiwanese enterprises can better understand market expectations and achieve the products realization through seamless regulatory alignment.
