The nursing home of our hospital was established in 2000. Currently, 85 beds are set up, accounting for 98% of the bed rate. The geriatric psychiatric team of the Taoyuan Psychiatric Center MOHW was established in 2004, consisting of 8 geriatric psychiatric specialists, together with nurses, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, pharmacists and dietitians. The team provides elderly psychiatric outpatient clinics, acute hospitalization, day-care, community outreach services, disability identification and certification, and actively refers patients to long-term care resources. The team provides professional, considerate, continuous, high-quality geriatric psychiatric services in a multi-disciplinary manner. The quality and achievements accumulated over the years have been recognized by many parties.

Recently, the role of pharmacist in the care team has getting more and more attention in Taiwan. However, many pharmaceutical services focus more on long-term care institutions, does very little on fields of mental disorders as a target. Characteristically, our pharmacy team focused on pharmaceutical services in mental health care, not only to provide hospital-based outreach services, also to combine social network and community resources for mental health patient and their families. In addition, we involved in research to establish local empirical evidence.
Driven by the concept of "patient-centered", our pharmacists always keep the patients as priority. Hence, the role of pharmacist has changed from passive to active. We take action by distributing information of drugs and its related health education. Not only providing the pharmaceutical services at the outpatient clinics, our pharmacists worked closely with team members of inpatient psychiatric groups for drug safety. Furthermore, our pharmacists have reached out to the people in the neighborhood, community and campus for continuity, integrity, integration services. We developed a mutual trust relationship with the residents in neighborhood in order to ensure the safe supply of medicines and aimed at promote the concept of proper medication, and widespread the information of drug safety to every corner of the community.

Services from general practice are to help the children by dressing wounds, and hope that they can continue to move forward by themselves. However, services from mental health professionals will lead them with injuries, take a step, and embark on a new path.
The child and adolescent psychiatric department of Taoyuan Psychiatric Center founded in 1985, a center dedicated to the services, training, and researches of child and adolescent mental health. For children, adolescents, and their families, we offer a variety of mental health services including outpatients, inpatients, day care services with emphasis on early diagnosis and intervention. The entire program is provided by a multidisciplinary team including child and adolescent psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, psychiatric fellows. Our mission is to bridge the gap between science and practice, integrating the finest research with patient care and state-of-the-art training.
